SWEET ROSE REVUE
is an exciting and versatile duo that consists of Janice
Buckner on string bass and guitar, and Anna Epstein-Kravis
on keyboards. They are interpretive stylists who use
the contrast of their voices to create "a unique sound, rich in blend and counterpoint." (Rutland
Herald). The New York Times calls them "...clever, evocativ...a potpourri of virtually every style
of music."
From blues and classic rock
to contemporary and original songs, their repertoire includes
selections from Gershwin, Billie Holiday, James Brown, the Beatles,
the Dixie Chicks and beyond. In addition to creative renditions
of well-loved material, both women are highly praised songwriters.
Miles Kravis, on guitars
and mandolin, frequently joins to duo as backing musician.
Credits include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, National
Scottish TV, BBC Radio I and II, two European tours, the Reichold
Center for the Performing Arts in the Virgin Islands, the Queen
Elizabeth II Ocean Liner, the Milwaukee Center for the Performing
Arts, the Detroit Youththeater, the El Paso Texas "Festival Under
the Stars", the Maine Center for the Arts, the Whitney Museum
and Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC.
